ghd: A History

ghd or Good Hair Day is the hair straightening phenomenon of the moment.

Founded back in 2001 a UK a company based in Yorkshire, ghd has become synonymous with the most sought after hair stylers on the planet.

The company founder, Martin Penny was advised to buy the rights to some styling iron he had been sent from a South Korean inventor. They were the first of their kind but within a few years were the most talked about item in hair history.

Helped by a intensive worldwide marketing campaign ghd was awarded the ‘fastest growing company’ by the Sunday Times in 2005 and had staggering success not only in the UK but throughout the USA, Australia and Europe

Thanks to their use by celebrities like Jennifer Anniston, Gwyneth Paltro, Cameron Diaz and Madonna ghd stylers have developed a cult like following.

Now in 2009 ghd have produced their forth and latest incarnation of their styleing iron: the ‘IV’. The ghd IV Styler has been promoted in the TV and in magazines, you may have seen their controversial “thy will be done” adverts.

They are recommended and sold by most hair salons in the UK and are recognised world wide as the ultimate hair straightening iron.
